Pumpkin Watch 2009

Last year my garden produced a giant pumpkin weighing at over 150 lbs. We wanted to be that weight this year, but were unable to save seeds from last years pumpkin. So we bought a little packet of giant pumpkin seeds and we are waiting with great anticipation for the fall.
Above is a picture of George the Giant Pumpkin peaking out at the world beneath it's own large leaves. Below is a picture of how the pumpkin starts out. Last year we thought it was a weird cross bread. After a few weeks it begins to look more like a pumpkin.
Here he is growing next to a regular Jack o Lantern Pumpkin.


I can't wait to see what he looks like next week.
